Sendang Gile is a beautiful waterfall located near Senaru village in North Lombok, serving as the gateway to Mount Rinjani. The name "Sendang Gile" translates to "Crazy Spring" in the local Sasak language. This waterfall is the first of two spectacular falls in the area, with Tiu Kelep being the second and more impressive one.

The waterfall cascades from a height of about 30 meters into a refreshing natural pool below, surrounded by lush tropical vegetation. The mist from the waterfall creates a cool microclimate, offering a pleasant respite from Lombok's tropical heat. The area around Sendang Gile is rich in biodiversity, with various plant species and sometimes even monkeys can be spotted in the surrounding trees.

What makes Sendang Gile special is its accessibility - it's just a short 15-minute walk from the entrance, making it suitable for visitors of all ages. The path to the waterfall is relatively easy, passing through scenic jungle terrain with small streams and interesting rock formations. Many visitors combine a trip to Sendang Gile with a visit to the more challenging Tiu Kelep waterfall, which requires about 45 minutes of additional hiking.

  • Allow 1-2 hours for your visit to Sendang Gile, or 3-4 hours if continuing to Tiu Kelep.

  • Accessible by car or scooter with parking available near the entrance.
